Being in the yachting industry for many years, maintaining yachts to high industry standards I feel particularly qualified to comment on the services of Techniques Yacht Painters.

Punctuality: Workers showed up when scheduled on time and dressed in a professional manner.

Preparation: Masking and taping is all completed to high industry standards.

Colour matching: Most recent command has a base coat metallic paint with clear coating. Major yards in the US would not attempt to blend small paint repairs, Technique Yacht Painters completed all repairs with no noticeable blemishes.

Final finish: All painting done to date has a final finish of show room quality.

Deficiencies: On completion of a project and final review, any deficiencies were handled without contest.

Extras: At no time have I been asked for extra funds midway through a project. The quoted price has always been honoured regardless of climatic conditions or unforeseen difficulties.

In conclusion: I have worked with many yacht painters worldwide. There are few if any that can match the service, professionalism or quality of Technique Yacht Painter.

I have known Sim for just about 5 years now. During the winters Sim helps me maintain my fleet of boats in Antigua, West Indies. Sim has carried out many and varied assignments going above and beyond my expectations. I’ve hired Sim to paint our carbon masts and booms and touch up many areas around the boats hull and nonskid. His team also regularly details and cleans the exteriors. Sim is loyal, honest, reliable and can be counted on to seek assistance with every facet of my yachts many finishes. Glenworth Francis, known to me and to most here on Antigua as Sim, has been a friend and a reliable contractor for many years now.
I have watched him grow from being in my employment with Woodstock Boatbuilders to establishing himself as one of the premier Paint Contractors on the island. Since becoming a yacht Captain myself I have used his services whenever quality Paint or Gelcoat work was asked for and not once found reason for complaint.
Sim has slowly built himself a reliable team of family members and friends and is running a tight yet friendly ship.
His Business had grown big enough to run multiple paint projects at any one time and Sim appears to be in full control, keeping his eye on quality and efficiency very professionally.

I am captain on board Sailing Yacht "Stormbird " (Hallberg Rassy 62) based in the Caribbean. Stormbird is managed by UK based "Professional Yacht Deliveries Worldwide Ltd"
Antigua is our home port during the summer months.

We have a longstanding association with "Techniques Yacht Painters" spanning many seasons. We always call on Sim and his crew for all our Awl-grip painting and varnishing
requirements whenever we are in Antigua
Sim over the years has established a well-respected professional business for the numerous yachts here in Antigua _ He has completed many Awl-grip painting projects for us including cockpit helm station, cockpit stripe, full Awl-grip makeover of all our bathroom shower cubicles , both our radar and satcom poles as well as many other numerous smaller projects. He has truly helped us keep our 14 year old yacht looking like new !!

Although I undertake most of the varnishing on board myself there are certain projects which truly benefit from spray varnishing. Sim is one of only a few companies in Antigua who offer this service and I highly recommend Sim for your varnishing needs. I also know he offers "brush" varnishing as well.

Sim is a perfectionist at work and he won't be happy with the project until he is completely satisfied the job has been completed correctly. His crew are a charming group of people who have been working with Sim for many years including his brother.
They are meticulous in their work, very hard working, polite and courteous and a pleasure to have on board.
They just get on with the job without any chatting amongst themselves to slow things down.

Since that time, Metani has been all over the Caribbean and the East Coast of the US and we have not found another painter with Sim’s talents. It was with great pleasure that we recently returned to Antigua to ask Sim to help us with a few painting projects. He quickly fit us in and accomplished the work within a very tight time frame.
